The Pengrowth Saddledome rink. Looks a long way down, but we found things clearer than TV (and lets face it the atmosphere is way better.)
The action...
Things threaten to get out of a hand - or 'in hand' depending on how you look at it...
The flames celebrate one of their 6 goals.
And here's me, next to the big ice. Mmmm, icy glow.

Here are some of the pics from Calgary these past two days. (Words can be found at http://davevscanada.travellerspoint.com)
Dad rediscovers the education department at Calgary University.
A close up of the glass beads on a Blackfoot martingale, a 'thingy' which keeps the saddle in place on a horse.
This is part of Raw Eater's story robe, a stylized method of painting used to keep a record of some of the major events in his lifetime. Here, he knocks off the chief of another clan, earning glory in the process.
Traditional "standing-up" headress.
And Dad, coming face to face with a bison.
The close up of a carved tusk, from somewhere in China in the late 18th Century...
...and the tusk itself.

They like their new Symphony Express ski area at Whistler. So much so, they carved it into the snow and ice...
But when WE got there, it was a complete white out...
Nature can be so beautiful can't it? A squirrel at Blackcomb...
...a blue jay
...and this is what beavers do.
This is Christmas Day @ Warkworth, Ontario. Notice the distinct lack of snow, as compared to Mount Hotham and half of Victoria back home...
And this is Boxing Day. Our white christmas came at last!
Happy Christmas!
